LINE-MOUNTED VALVES

- for standard applications (Series D27)
- for special applications (Series D21)

Can be mounted close to the actuator, reducing length of pipe to be pressurized/exhausted on each cycle.

Other features:

  • "Self-cleaning" poppet design
  • Available with different internals for three different temperature ranges
  • Five flow patterns are available:
    • 2/2-way, normally open/closed
    • 3/2-way, normally open/closed
    • 4/2-way
  • Port size up to G 2½
  • Flow rating up to kv = 61
  • Long service life. Very often these valves "survive" the machines they are used in.
  • LOGICAIR® adaptors provide special functions, e.g.:
    • Timed sequence adaptor
    • Air-Index-Adaptor (allows a single control valve to function as an impulse controlled, detented valve)
    • "PB"-adaptor (for higher actuation force)

BASE-MOUNTED VALVES

ISO-Standard ISO 5599/I (Series W60, W63, W64)
ISO 5599/II (Series W65)
ANSI-Standard (Series W70 and W74)
SAE-Standard (Series 80 and 84)

All piping is to the base, not the valve, for easy valve removal and servicing.
Other features:
  • Three constructions available:
    • poppet
    • stainless steel spool & sleeve
    • resilient seal spool
  • Valves are fully interchangeable with any other valves using a standard mounting interface
  • Compact design (manifold mounting system)
  • 5/2- and 5/3-way valves in all sizes available
  • Port size up to G 1½
  • Flow rating up to kv = 22
  • Electrical connections provided by:
    • drop-cord plug (ISO 5599/I)
    • body-to-base / plug-in base (ANSI or ISO 5599/II)
    • 3- or 5-pin connectors (SAE-Norm)
  • Variety of interposed control devices available.

PROPORTIONAL VALVES

ROSS-Proportional Valves:
Plug-and-Play-Pneumatics for a highly demanding application environment.

For many years ROSS proportional valves have proved their value as highly reliable control components. And they like hot environments, as can be found in the glass industry, for instance.  The 2nd generation of ROSS proportional valves is now available. They provide a clearly improved performance level.

ROSS proudly offers a complete line of proportional valves, nominal diameters range from 2.5 thru 50. Various interface options as well as customized pilot concepts ensure a high degree of flexibility.

Some major benefits at a glance:

Improved Electronics

  • Maximum precision
  • Improved repeatability
  • Faster processor
  • Temperature range up to +85° C

Optimized Housing

  • Seamless design
  • IP 65 Enclosure Rating
  • Extended service life

SAFETY-RELATED VALVES

L-O-X® energy isolation valves are designed to shut off the air supply and exhaust downstream air. This product can be locked and padlocked in closed position, and serves as an energy isolation device as defined by DIN EN 1037 "Safety – Machinery".

EEZ-ON® valves are designed for a gradual buildup of downstream air pressure. This permits cylinders or other work elements to move slowly into their normal working positions before full line pressure is applied.

Consolidated L-O-X®/EEZ-ON® valves combine both pressure buildup and energy isolation functions. They can also be used as energy isolation devices as defined by DIN EN 1037 "Safety – Machinery".

DOUBLE VALVES

For almost 40 years now ROSS has been developing double valves which have made significant contributions to the operating safety of pneumatically controlled press equipment. The double valves presented here have all been approved by Deutsche Berufsgenossenschaft and represent the state-of-the-art in ROSS double valve design. They provide additional safety in the operation of pneumatically controlled presses and other power-driven machines, in accordance with current European health and safety requirements. Selecting the double valve best suited to each application requires considerable technical knowledge. If you need further information or technical advice, please do not hesitate to contact your ROSS specialists.

3/2-Way-SERPAR® Crossflow™ Double Valves with Pressure Switches

The design of this double valve type is distinguished by two crossflow passages and special valve poppet and spool elements which provide the valve's unique flow characteristics. Two pressure switches are mounted on an adaptor and measure the pressure in the crossflow passages of the main valve. In normal operation the two valve elements move simultaneously and the pressure switches send a matched pair of signals to the control system. If there is a malfunction and the valve elements do not move simultaneously, the pressure switches send an unmatched pair of signals, the control system switches off the valve and prevents any further valve operation. Therefore, the two pressure switches, when correctly connected to the safety circuit, carry out a reliable monitoring function which is in full accordance with the requirements of EN 692.

DM Double Valves

featuring dynamic monitoring and memory capabilities (patented design)

These 3/2-way normally closed valves in base-mounting design are available as a complete Series in Sizes 4, 8, 12 and 30 (outlet ports G 1/2 to G 2, on both sides for more piping flexibility). DM valves offer the design features of the well-proven ROSS poppet valve technology and fully comply with the relevant criteria of DIN EN 692 as well as DIN EN 954 (Cat. 3 and 4). The valves provide dynamic, cyclic and internal monitoring during each actuating and de-actuating movement. DM valves have been approved by Deutsche Berufsgenossenschaft (BG-PRÜFZERT, MHHW, Cert.-No.s 06 008 / 06 021).

5/2-Way Double Vavles with CROSSMIRROR® Sensing

These CROSSMIRROR® double valves have been designed for the safe operation of pneumatically controlled cylinder presses and linear drives. Because of their "redundancy" features (each valve has two main and pilot valve systems) and their self-monitoring capabilities, these valves provide a very high safety standard. Base-mount design for easy valve exchange.

COMPACT VALVES

These light-weight pneumatic valves stand out for their solid, compact design, short response times and an amazingly high flow capacity. Designed as resilient-seal spool models, these valves are available in 3/2-, 5/2- and 5/3-way configuration for either solenoid or pressure control. Individual units can easily be assembled to form complete valve blocks requiring limited mounting space. Port sizes range from M5 through G 3/8.

AIR PREPARATION UNITS

(Filters, Regulators, Lubricators)

The use of line conditioning units, while not always necessary, will generally improve the performance and extend the life of valves and other downstream components.

Filters, regulators and lubricators are available as individual units or as combinations in modular design. You may choose from four different series. Port sizes range from G 1/8 through G 2. A broad line of accessories is also available.

ROSS/FLEX® – CUSTOMER DEFINED CONTROLS

ROSS/FLEX® is a unique combination of modern technologies, proven valve components, and customer participation.

This innovative process covers three major steps:
  • A ROSS/FLEX® specialist meets with the customer to identify specific needs and interests. Provided that no existing product fits these requirements, a detailed review of the application and a discussion of the customer's specifications get started.
  • Using CAD/CAM, the ROSS/FLEX® team then designs a unique product, with the customer's input and ideas.
  • With design approval, the ROSS/FLEX® engineer then establishes a direct link to our fully-automated machining centres, which produce the necessary components for a complete working prototype.
